A talk show, sometimes referred to as a chat show, is a television or radio programming genre in which one person, or a group of people, discusses various topics which are introduced to them, and the audience, at the beginning of the show.
Usually, guests consist of a group of people who are educated or who have great experience in relation to whatever issue is being discussed on the show for that episode. Other times, a single guest discusses their work or area of expertise with a host or hosts. A call-in show takes live phone calls from callers listening at home. Sometimes, guests are already seated but are often introduced and enter from backstage. There have been many notable talk show hosts; in many cases, the shows have made their hosts famous.
When we are talking about talk shows, the first one that comes to mind is probably The Oprah Winfrey Show, or simply known as Oprah Show. Now, for the fans of the bizarre drama, loud and sometimes aggressive guests, and a very involved audience, The Jerry Springer Show is the prefect talk show; the host is charming and funny, the ‘bodyguard’ is not too hard on the eyes, and the guest provide stories that are either extremely hard to believe or just plain absurd, but the audience is somehow never left disappointed.
